Casa Dorino
The holiday house Casa Dorino is situated in the village Mascengo, a quiet location with a picturesque view of the San Giorgio church, which you can admire directly from the house windows. The terrace invites you to enjoy the view of the mountains Pizzo Sole and Pizzo Molare. You can relax in the peace and quiet of the Ticino mountain village. Ideally for family that love hiking in nature, from Mascengo you can directly start several trekking in the region of the Tremorgio lake.
The place:
Casa Dorino was the home of our great-grandparents Isidoro and Ottilia. They had emigrated to California as farmers. Our grandfather Frank returned to Prato Leventina in 1907 and with our grandmother Mariette, they had 7 brothers and sisters, including our father Ugo. They all lived together in Casa Dorino.
We are 4 siblings (Rosa, Francesco, Massimo and Michela) and at the beginning of 2019 we decided to renovate this house partly to use it for us and our families and partly to make it available to our guests. Please, pay attention to the central staircase of the house: it is very steep even though Grandma went up to 92 years old!
We are very attached to our home village which is Prato Leventina.

Use of sauna:
The sauna is located on floor -1. Reservation is mandatory, as the sauna takes about 1 hour to warm up. We will take care of switching it on and off.
Please, tell us at the arrival if you would like to use it and for how long.
It can run for up to 2 hours continuously a day for an extra 40 CHF / 40 Euro per day that you will pay at the check-out.
Use is reserved exclusively for internal guests.
Coffee and tea:
Casa Dorino offers free coffee, tea, olive oil, salt and pepper. You will find them in the kitchen.
Rules:
- no pets allowed.
- no smoking inside the home.
- check-out is before 11 AM.
- A CHF 100 charge will be added for lost or stolen keys.
- you will find fondue and raclette set in the kitchen, if you will try typical swiss food.
Supermarkets are located in Faido. It's about 15 min to drive. You will find Coop, Migros, Denner, Pharmacies, doctors.
